Design Systems Engineer (Remote, Bucaramanga)

About the role

Blacksmith Agency builds websites and marketing programs for US clients. As a Design Systems Engineer you will own the creation of client design systems, turning brand guidelines into reusable token architectures and component libraries that can be executed automatically.

Key responsibilities

• Build token architecture in Figma using variables, modes, and semantic naming that our pipeline can read predictably.
• Ship core component libraries that work across entire sites, not just individual pages.
• Document the system so developers or automated pipelines can execute it without questions.
• Work across several client brands simultaneously, maintaining structural rigor while delivering distinct visual identities.

Required profile

• 4+ years of web design experience with proven design‑system work in your portfolio.
• Strong English skills and ability to overlap with US business hours.
• Portfolio showing varied client work while maintaining consistent underlying rigor.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Figma variables, component properties, auto‑layout, and variants.
• Experience building token architectures and component libraries.
