Development Manager - FC (QA Project Management)

About the role

Electronic Arts' Quality Verification and Standards (QVS) team delivers insights that help game teams optimise software performance and improve gameplay. As a Development Manager, you report to the Development Director and work closely with the FC Live team. You oversee QA project planning and execution with studio partners, coordinating schedules, test strategy and project metrics, and supporting knowledge transfer and communication with the game team and partner groups.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee project schedules and milestones, modify priorities as needed and balance scope, timelines and quality
• Identify and mitigate risks, manage blockers and prioritise tasks
• Report effectively to leadership and stakeholders
• Collaborate with developers, analysts and producers, run stand-ups and planning sessions, and communicate progress
• Determine resource requirements, handle capacity planning and task tracking
• Mentor QA team members, conduct performance reviews, career development and training

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Game Production/Development, Business, etc.); a Master's is a plus
• At least 5 years of experience in a software development environment, 4 years in project management or project lead roles, and 5 years of leadership experience
• Strong communicator across technical and non-technical disciplines, able to influence where needed
• Self-starter who can work autonomously with minimal supervision

• Test case management tools such as TestRail, Xray or qmetry
• Scrum / Agile and project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban)
• White-box / gray-box testing techniques and understanding of software development processes
• MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Jira
• Analytical thinking, risk management and stakeholder management
