DevOps Engineer

About the role

Join a leading HR technology provider to strengthen cloud infrastructure, accelerate secure deployments, and ensure reliable HR platforms for US businesses. Work remotely from Colombia while collaborating with international specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Manage deployment pipelines across Heroku, Railway, AWS, and Render.
• Maintain and update Ruby on Rails application packages and dependencies.
• Implement and maintain GitHub Actions workflows for CI/CD.
• Develop automated Playwright test frameworks within deployment pipelines.
• Monitor application performance, optimize PostgreSQL queries, and resolve N+1 issues.
• Design and execute ETL processes to support data analytics.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues to maintain uptime.
• Collaborate with development teams to align architecture with deployment requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or related technical role.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in production environments.

Required skills

• Ruby on Rails application architecture and deployment best practices.
• Experience with PaaS providers (Heroku, Railway) and AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency in GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools.
• Automated testing with Playwright or comparable frameworks.
• PostgreSQL database management and performance optimization.
• Application performance monitoring tools (Datadog, New Relic, CloudWatch, Papertrail).
• ETL process design and data pipeline development.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker for containerization (preferred).
