Director of Finance & Accounting (Remote, CPA Required)

About the role

Our client, a U.S.-based private real‑estate investment firm, is seeking a seasoned finance leader to serve as the CFO’s primary deputy. The role is remote (based in Colombia) and requires a U.S. CPA. You will own the financial integrity of the platform and act as the first point of contact for the CFO.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and quarter‑end close for the management company and all investment vehicles.
• Serve as the internal expert on complex real‑estate accounting, including fair‑value measurement, consolidation, and promote/carried‑interest calculations.
• Manage audit and tax relationships, overseeing external auditors, K‑1 preparation and all compliance deadlines.
• Direct budgeting and quarterly forecasting, providing variance analysis that drives decisions.
• Review and approve investor letters and distribution notices, ensuring 100 % accuracy in IRR and equity‑multiple reporting.
• Oversee treasury functions such as capital calls, distributions and credit‑facility management.
• Support acquisition, disposition and debt‑refinancing structuring alongside the investment team.
• Manage and develop a team of two senior finance professionals.

Required profile

• 12 + years of experience in real‑estate accounting or finance.
• Proven ability to lead a finance team and partner with a CFO.
• U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – MBA is a plus.
• Deep knowledge of NCREIF/PREA reporting standards and waterfall distribution calculations.
• Comfortable working in a lean, high‑ownership environment.
• Not a fit for candidates who need a fully built system or who view institutional‑grade reporting as overhead.
