Drayage Lead

About the role

This role leads customer-facing operations for domestic truckload shipments, coordinating pickups and deliveries, managing drayage operations and supporting a growing operations team. It draws on experience in brokerage and customer-facing transportation operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead customer-facing operations for domestic truckload shipments, ensuring consistent service and operational execution.
• Build and maintain orders manually within the TMS, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate and oversee pickup and delivery scheduling, applying knowledge of terminal processes, containers, chassis and transportation requirements.
• Serve as a key point of contact for customers, resolving operational issues promptly.
• Monitor shipment activity, identify exceptions and coordinate resolutions with customers, carriers and internal teams.
• Keep load information, documentation and operational updates accurate and shared with stakeholders.
• Guide, coach and support team members, and help set SOPs, workflows and performance expectations.
• Monitor team performance and look for ways to improve service quality, productivity and efficiency.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in drayage transportation, logistics, brokerage, customer operations or a related field.
• Previous experience with drayage and customer-facing operations.
• Leadership, supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.
• Ability to help build and develop a new or growing operations team.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of brokerage operations and domestic truckload processes.
• Experience with TMS platforms and order management.
• Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving and organizational skills.
