Driver/Conductor – UN Verification Mission (Bogotá)

About the role

The United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia is seeking a professional Driver/Conductor to provide safe and reliable ground transportation for staff, visitors, and cargo in Bogotá. The role requires strict adherence to UN road‑safety standards and local traffic regulations while delivering high‑quality service to internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Operate UN‑assigned vehicles to transport authorized personnel, materials, and general cargo safely and on schedule.
• Deliver and collect parcels, documents, and other items between the office and external partners such as ministries, embassies, and vendors.
• Provide airport pickup and drop‑off services for officials and visitors.
• Maintain professional communication with officials, visitors, and vendors.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs.
• Coordinate major servicing and ensure vehicles remain clean, presentable, and fully equipped.
• Offer VIP transportation and standby driver support as needed.
• Report any vehicle damage, accidents, or incidents promptly and keep accurate logs of fuel, mileage, and maintenance.

Required profile

• Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience providing professional driver services.
• Valid driving license with a clean driving record.
• Technical certifications in road safety, defensive driving, first aid, and/or Colombian transport regulations (preferred).
• Experience operating a wide range of vehicle types, including light passenger cars, sedans, 4x4 SUVs, ambulances, pick‑up trucks, cargo vans, and passenger vans.
• Experience with armoured vehicles and prior work in the United Nations system or comparable international organisations is desirable.
