Field Clinical Specialist - Transcatheter Heart Valves (Bogotá)

About the role

Edwards Lifesciences' Transcatheter Heart Valve (THV) business unit partners with cardiologists and clinical teams to deliver heart valve solutions supported by clinical evidence. This field clinical specialist position, based in Bogotá, applies professional expertise to support field clinical activities and business outcomes, delivering clinical education and operational expertise to clinical end-users.

Key responsibilities

• Certify centers, physicians and related staff, as well as EW personnel, according to company SOPs
• Deliver post-commercial education and training on the device, its handling, implantation and troubleshooting
• Develop and improve training curricula, materials and tools based on clinical trial experience and company guidelines
• Train physicians, hospital staff and other personnel through one-on-one sessions and structured in-service programs, and provide follow-up support during commercial procedures
• Plan growth strategies in focused accounts with Sales and Sales Management, and support upselling in key strategic accounts with Business Managers
• Validate software and hardware updates in the field where applicable
• Review clinical support activities, market changes, assigned accounts and competitor activity with the Sales Specialist

Required profile

• 3+ years of related medical device and/or clinical experience
• Bachelor's degree in a related field; clinical or technical training experience preferred
• Proven expertise in MS Office Suite and general office machinery
• Good written and verbal communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to manage confidential information, competing priorities and to work in teams across departments

Required skills

• Moderate knowledge of cardiovascular science, anatomy, pathology and physiology
• Moderate understanding of medical device regulatory requirements, device accountability and adverse event reporting
• Ability to adhere to company rules such as pandemic protocols and environmental health and safety requirements
