Field Service Engineer – Power Plant Projects

About the role

The Field Service Engineer will support the engineering, commissioning and start‑up of power‑plant equipment and processes. You will work on projects ranging from combustion and steam turbines to heat‑recovery steam generators, boilers and water‑treatment systems, either as a Project Engineer or Technical Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement hardware databases, logic, graphics and datalinks for non‑complex solutions.
• Review and ensure the quality of application documentation.
• Lead factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), commissioning and plant start‑up activities.
• Supervise subcontractors and remote engineering teams during engineering and commissioning phases.
• Develop functional designs (hardware and software) and reverse‑engineer retrofit projects.
• Perform high‑expertise tasks such as loop tuning, turbine start‑ups, advanced controls and performance‑prediction solutions.
• Promote productivity tools and optimise engineering effort to increase project profitability.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in engineering and commissioning of power‑plant equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Strong communication skills with customers and internal teams.
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget and to high quality standards.

• Balance of plant and water‑treatment plant systems.
• Hardware database design, logic programming, graphics and datalink configuration.
• Loop tuning, turbine start‑up procedures, advanced control systems.
• Functional hardware/software design, reverse engineering, FAT and SAT.
• Commissioning, plant start‑up, remote engineering supervision.
