Finance Director – Strategic Finance Lead

About the role

Devsu is seeking a Finance Director to act as a strategic partner to leadership while overseeing financial operations across multiple entities. This senior finance role focuses on visibility, planning, and decision support rather than traditional accounting tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly close process for all entities, preparing balance sheet, P&L, and cash‑flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with Ecuadorian accounting, tax and labor regulations and maintain working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors and tax advisors in both the U.S. and Ecuador.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning, building models to support growth decisions.
• Provide insights on client profitability, cost structure, margin optimization, cash flow and capital allocation.
• Identify risks and opportunities, supporting strategic initiatives such as pricing, expansion and efficiency projects.
• Design and implement cost‑control frameworks, improve reporting clarity and internal controls through automation and AI.
• Support cross‑border structure optimization and tax efficiency in coordination with advisors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• 3+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, preferably in multi‑entity or international environments.
• Strong knowledge of Ecuadorian accounting and tax regulations (required) and working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and FP&A modeling.
• Fluent in Spanish and English with strong business acumen.
• Desire to grow into a future CFO role.
