Financial Controller

About the role

EIM Services Inc. is seeking a senior Financial Controller to act as a strategic finance leader for a portfolio of startup clients. This remote, full‑time contractor role combines client‑facing advisory with hands‑on financial management, supporting founders in turning ideas into thriving businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary financial point of contact for 10+ startup clients, presenting reports, forecasts and strategic recommendations to leadership and boards.
• Own month‑end and year‑end close processes, delivering accurate financial statements, management reports and board packages.
• Oversee accounts payable, receivable and payroll across the client portfolio while ensuring GAAP compliance and robust internal controls.
• Build and maintain financial forecasting models, including SaaS metrics (ARR, MRR, churn, LTV, CAC, burn rate, runway) and traditional P&L, cash‑flow and balance‑sheet projections.
• Lead annual budgeting cycles, perform variance analysis and develop scenario models for fundraising and growth planning.
• Directly manage and mentor a growing finance team of 2–3 members, establishing best practices and performance standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 5‑7 years of progressive finance experience, preferably in SaaS or startup environments.
• Proven ability to work directly with founders and executive teams, translating financial data into actionable business decisions.
• Experience managing multiple client accounts and leading small finance teams.
• Strong communication skills and comfort presenting to boards and investors.
