Financial Controller

About the role

The Finance Controller oversees the company's finance and accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management and compliance with financial policies and controls. The role leads accounting personnel and financial processes, with a strong focus on budgeting, forecasting, inventory and manufacturing accounting, financial analysis and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee accounting personnel, including internal and outsourced finance resources, ensuring accurate and timely completion of accounting activities.
• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and annual business planning.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity, banking relationships and financial compliance.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, customer invoicing and payments.
• Manage monthly and annual financial close, including bank reconciliations, asset registers, depreciation schedules and reporting.
• Oversee inventory accounting, inventory valuation, COGS and manufacturing-related accounting.
• Monitor supply chain costs, including supplier costs, currency exchange and transportation expenses.
• Prepare and analyse financial reports, KPI dashboards, gross margins and budget performance to recommend actions.
• Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, internal controls and accounting processes.
• Partner with leadership and cross-functional departments to support business decisions.
• Drive process improvements and support moving outsourced finance functions in-house.
• Oversee accounting systems and the use of financial tools, particularly QuickBooks Desktop.

Required profile

• Experience overseeing financial operations, including AP, AR, collections, reconciliations and financial closing.
• Proven ability to manage and lead internal and outsourced accounting resources.
• Proven ability to develop accounting policies, procedures and process improvements.
• Ability to work independently and give financial recommendations to senior leadership.
• Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles and reporting.
• Clear written and verbal communication in English.
