Financial Controller – US GAAP & SEC Reporting

About the role

Cornerstone Global Partners is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead global accounting, financial reporting, compliance and internal controls for a fast‑growing U.S. minerals‑refining company. The role will work closely with executive leadership and cross‑functional teams while operating remotely under a Colombian contract.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes across U.S. and international entities, ensuring accurate reporting under U.S. GAAP.
• Oversee multi‑entity, multi‑currency consolidations, intercompany reconciliations and foreign‑currency translation.
• Partner with external auditors on audits, technical accounting matters and compliance requirements.
• Support SEC reporting activities, including preparation of Forms 10‑Q, 10‑K, 8‑K and maintenance of disclosure controls.
• Drive IPO readiness, regulatory compliance and strategic corporate transactions.
• Design, implement and improve Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) and lead SOX compliance initiatives.
• Coordinate accounting operations for international subsidiaries, aligning with U.S. GAAP and local tax regulations.
• Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, standard costing and collaborate with Operations to analyze production costs and profitability.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Controller or senior accountant in a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting and SOX compliance.
• Experience with multi‑entity, multi‑currency consolidations and manufacturing cost structures.
• Ability to work remotely and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Fluent English communication skills.
