Financial Shared Services Manager

About the role

The Financial Shared Services Manager will lead IPA's newly established Shared Services Center in Bogotá, overseeing the design, implementation and day‑to‑day operation of finance processes that serve all IPA entities worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day operations of the Shared Services Center, covering accounts payable, journal entry processing, intercompany transactions and bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations for all IPA entities.
• Establish and monitor service‑level agreements with country offices and headquarters, ensuring agreed turnaround times, accuracy rates and query‑resolution timelines.
• Coordinate with finance staff in country offices to resolve documentation gaps, clear reconciliation discrepancies and support month‑end close activities.
• Identify automation opportunities, drive system improvements and simplify processes in partnership with IT and Global Finance.
• Develop performance dashboards and KPIs, reporting results regularly to senior finance leadership.
• Recruit, onboard and supervise a team of up to three shared‑services staff, set performance objectives and conduct reviews.
• Design and deliver training on accounting tasks, reconciliation procedures and NetSuite operations, maintaining documentation for knowledge continuity.
• Ensure compliance with IPA policies, donor requirements and applicable accounting standards, and support internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Proven experience building or leading a finance shared‑services function or similar centralized accounting operation.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, journal entries, intercompany accounting and bank/balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Demonstrated ability to design processes, set SLAs and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Experience recruiting, coaching and managing a small finance team.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, acting as the primary liaison between country offices and headquarters finance.
