Head of Risk (Trust & Safety)

About the role

We are looking for a senior leader to build and own the Trust & Safety function for a fast‑growing peer‑to‑peer marketplace. Reporting directly to the COO, you will shape the strategy, processes and technology that keep the platform safe and trustworthy.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the Trust & Safety operating model, including team structure, workflows, tooling and a scalable roadmap.
• Define, track and act on fraud‑loss and risk metrics to reduce losses and improve platform safety.
• Produce executive‑ready reports on marketplace threats to secure budget and stakeholder buy‑in.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to deliver fraud detection, identity verification and moderation tools.
• Lead high‑severity incident response, coordinating Legal, Engineering and Operations to turn investigations into policy and product changes.
• Manage vendor relationships for fraud and identity solutions, making build‑vs‑buy decisions.
• Establish audit‑ready policies in collaboration with Legal and ensure organization‑wide enforcement.

Required profile

• 7+ years experience in Trust & Safety, Fraud Operations or Risk Management.
• 5+ years of people‑management experience, including managing managers or senior ICs.
• Proven track record of building or scaling a Trust & Safety or marketplace‑integrity function.
• Experience reporting metrics and outcomes to executive stakeholders.
• Background in high‑growth marketplace, platform or consumer internet business.
• Professional fluency in English (minimum C1).
