Head of Social Community (Global)

About the role

AvantStay, a venture-funded short-term rental group experience platform, is hiring its first Head of Social Community. This is a build role: you will own how the brand engages guests and owners online, create communities that do not yet exist, and report to the VP of Growth. The role is fully remote and open only to global candidates outside the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Define the brand's tone and standards across replies, DMs and threads, and build the playbook of templates, moderation standards and escalation paths.
• Build and nurture communities on the platforms where travelers and homeowners talk, deciding where, in what order and how they stay active.
• Monitor what people say about the brand across channels and give marketing, operations and revenue a regular, honest brief.
• Handle public complaints and escalations quickly and set the playbook for reputation management.
• Run experiments to earn engagement, with a budget to test and keep what works.

Required profile

• 3+ years in community or social roles for a consumer brand, ideally travel, hospitality or real estate.
• Experience building an online community from zero and keeping it alive, and running social listening that led to action.
• Comfort with data: reading engagement metrics, building simple reports and explaining changes.
• Ability to write quickly and warmly, switching between brand voice and personal voice.
• Excellent written and spoken English (near-native).
• Willingness to cover US business hours (Pacific, Central or Eastern time) while working remotely.

Nice to have

• Experience running an ambassador or UGC program.
• Reddit or Facebook group ads experience.
• Quick Canva or CapCut skills.
