Healthcare Operations Specialist

About the role

A Healthcare Operations Specialist is needed in Medellín, Colombia, to support and optimize day-to-day healthcare operations. The role combines patient coordination, medical billing support, cross-functional collaboration and process improvement, with a hybrid schedule of 10 days per month in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate patient onboarding, appointment scheduling and follow-up by phone and written communication, and guide patients through their care journey.
• Coordinate diagnostic procedures, referrals, test results and follow-up care, and communicate with healthcare providers to resolve operational issues.
• Support revenue cycle management: insurance eligibility verification, claim submissions, prior authorization, and follow-up on denials and appeals.
• Prepare, send and track invoices, maintain accurate billing records, and gather feedback to drive process and technology improvements.
• Collaborate with technical and operational teams on workflow improvements, automation and documentation of processes.

Required profile

• Professional working proficiency in both English and Spanish.
• Experience coordinating operational processes, managing multiple priorities and following through on tasks.
• Familiarity with U.S. healthcare operations, medical billing, insurance processes or healthcare compliance, or the ability to learn them quickly.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to take ownership of processes.
