IB Physics Teacher - MYP

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic IB Physics Teacher for the Middle Years Programme (MYP) at The English School in Bogotá. The successful candidate will design and deliver inquiry‑based physics lessons that align with IB philosophy, fostering critical thinking and scientific inquiry among students.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement inquiry‑based units and lesson plans aligned with the IB MYP framework.
• Create dynamic, inclusive, student‑centered learning environments.
• Facilitate hands‑on experiments and promote analytical thinking.
• Assess student learning using MYP criteria and provide timely feedback.
• Monitor academic progress and behavior, communicating with families and staff.
• Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and interdisciplinary projects.
• Integrate differentiation and inclusion strategies.
• Uphold school safeguarding, wellbeing, and coexistence policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Physics Education, or a related field (post‑graduate studies desirable).
• Minimum of 2 years of secondary‑level teaching experience, preferably teaching physics.
• Experience in IB schools, especially the MYP programme, is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ethical professionalism, student‑centered approach, and ability to collaborate within a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in English.
• Competence with educational technology tools for classroom instruction.
