About the role
A U.S.-based immigration law firm, represented by its client, is looking for a detail-oriented, organized and proactive Immigration Paralegal to join its growing legal team. The role is fully remote, working closely with U.S. immigration attorneys to prepare petitions, manage case documentation, communicate with clients and make sure filings are accurate, complete and submitted on time. Candidates must reside in Latin America and submit their CV in English; a short Loom video presentation is optional but gives priority.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare immigration petitions, government forms and supporting documentation for investor visas (E-2 and EB-5), family-based immigration and nonimmigrant matters.
- Draft cover letters, affidavits and client correspondence for attorney review.
- Collect, organize and review supporting evidence, making sure documents, forms and signatures are accurate and complete.
- Prepare and coordinate immigration filings according to established procedures and deadlines.
- Communicate with clients to request missing documents, give case updates and follow up on outstanding information.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case files in the firm's case management system.
- Track filing deadlines, government notices and case statuses, flagging important updates to attorneys.
- Collaborate with attorneys to prioritize cases and support day-to-day legal operations, spotting potential issues early to avoid delays or rejections.
Required profile
- At least 1 year of experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant or in a similar legal support role.
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing legal documents.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, able to handle several cases and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal English, able to interact professionally with clients and attorneys.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with a legal team.
- Nice to have: previous experience supporting U.S. immigration cases (E-2, EB-5, family-based or nonimmigrant petitions), a Bachelor's degree, experience with electronic legal case management software and bilingual proficiency.
