Indirect Tax Team Lead

About the role

Sanofi is seeking an Indirect Tax Team Lead to join its LATAM Finance organization in Bogotá. The role combines deep technical tax expertise with people‑leadership responsibilities, overseeing indirect tax compliance, advisory, and process optimisation across multiple Latin American jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation, review and filing of VAT, GST, Sales Tax and other indirect tax returns across LATAM jurisdictions.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of indirect tax professionals, allocating workload and ensuring quality standards.
• Provide practical indirect tax guidance to Finance, Procurement, Commercial and other business units, translating complex tax concepts into actionable recommendations.
• Drive optimisation and automation of indirect tax processes, strengthen internal controls and collaborate on ERP enhancements.
• Manage tax audits, maintain audit documentation and implement risk mitigation plans.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in indirect tax, VAT, GST or Sales Tax.
• Strong knowledge of LATAM tax regulations, especially in Colombia, Mexico, Brazil or Argentina.
• Previous leadership or team‑coordination experience.
• Experience in multinational or shared‑services environments is a plus.

Required skills

• VAT, GST and Sales Tax compliance expertise.
• Familiarity with tax technologies and ERP systems such as SAP and Workday.
• Understanding of transfer pricing principles.
