Investment Analyst - Emerging Markets

About the role

Global Investments Community Investment Management (CIM), a global institutional impact investment manager providing strategic debt funding to fintech lenders serving underserved borrowers in the United States and emerging markets, is hiring an Investment Analyst for its Emerging Markets team in Bogota, Colombia. The analyst contributes to all aspects of CIM's work in Emerging Markets, helping establish it as the leading credit provider for fintech lending products and platforms. The role suits someone with strong analytical skills and comfort with a high degree of autonomy in a collaborative, global organization.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct deal-specific diligence, including financial and credit analysis on new and existing investments.
• Build detailed models to evaluate investment performance across a range of scenarios.
• Support monitoring of existing investments through periodic analytical reviews and direct engagement with portfolio companies.
• Synthesize findings, develop analytical perspectives on companies with limited information, write investment memos and recommend actions to the team.
• Support investment structuring, negotiation, documentation and execution.
• Assist in building new investment theses by analyzing new markets and fintech verticals and monitoring competitive and regulatory landscapes.
• Work with teams in San Francisco, New York, Asia and other CIM locations on investor reporting, audits, risk reporting and technology coordination.
• Travel occasionally to target markets and to CIM's head office in San Francisco or other offices.

Required profile

• 2-3 years of previous work experience, with a background in fintech, investment banking, debt financing or structured products.
• Fluent in Spanish and English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative mindset, self-starter attitude and strong work ethic.

Required skills

• Expertise in building and assessing financial models.
• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or experience managing relational databases or data warehouses in AWS Cloud is viewed favorably.
