Junior Retail Architect

About the role

Gensler is seeking a Junior Architect focused on retail and roll‑out projects. You will blend creativity, technical knowledge, and business acumen to support client goals and contribute to commercial development.

Key responsibilities

• Manage client relationships, project coordination, and communication with general contractors and consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, civil).
• Resolve complex design and technical issues, review drawings for code compliance, and maintain project manuals and specifications.
• Process submittals, RFIs, and substitution requests during construction and conduct on‑site observations and documentation.
• Interface with building and permitting officials throughout permitting and construction phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture with 3+ years of architectural experience, including at least 1 year in retail.
• Strong communication and team‑building skills, able to manage client relationships and handle difficult situations with tact.
• Understanding of building construction, codes, standards, and ability to produce clear technical documents.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Revit.
• Bilingual English/Spanish with excellent written and verbal communication.
