Lead TFA – Controls Engineer

About the role

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Technical Field Assistant (TFA) specialized in Controls to oversee site activities at customer power generation facilities. The role combines hands‑on technical work with leadership responsibilities, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation of gas‑powered equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and monitor site resources, including labor, tools and technical assistants.
• Perform on‑site installation, preventive maintenance, repair and calibration of control systems.
• Respond to emergency repair requests and provide technical instruction to customer representatives.
• Prepare and submit technical reports, job status updates, material orders, timesheets and expense sheets.
• Sign off on changes, drive customer satisfaction and uphold GE safety standards.
• Coach, mentor and train team members in field engineering practices.
• Ensure all required parts are shipped to the site and conduct walk‑downs before and after work.

Required profile

• Completed Level III competencies for TFA roles.
• Proven experience managing field activities in a gas‑power or similar industrial environment.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to make decisions within defined parameters.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
