Legal Specialist

About the role

The Legal Specialist will support a leading multinational vision‑care company in Bogotá, providing legal opinions, managing contracts and ensuring compliance with Colombian consumer protection regulations. The role combines legal risk analysis with hands‑on contract administration in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare legal opinions in response to internal client inquiries.
• Identify and report legal risks affecting the company’s operations.
• Draft, review and coordinate the signing of contracts and amendments for the group and its parent companies.
• Maintain the contract‑tracking matrix and corporate documentation for all legal entities.
• Update intake forms and manage records on the Virtual Contract, Hiperlex and Legisway platforms.
• Provide legal support in consumer‑protection matters before the Colombian Superintendence of Industry and Commerce, handling official requests and notices.
• Defend the company’s interests under the Colombian Consumer Protection Statute and the General Code of Procedure to mitigate potential penalties.

Required profile

• Law degree from a Colombian university.
• Post‑graduate specialization in Commercial Law or Contract Law (preferred).
• 2‑4 years of experience in a similar legal role within the medical‑device or consumer‑goods sector.
• Direct experience working with multinational companies and handling consumer‑protection and real‑estate matters.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Required skills

• Proficiency with contract‑management platforms such as Virtual Contract, Hiperlex and Legisway.
• Strong contract drafting and review capabilities.
• Expertise in Colombian consumer‑protection law and related regulatory procedures.
