Manager, Accounting

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Manager, Accounting to join its Core Payments and Commercial and New Payments Flow Controllership team in Purchase, NY. The role ensures the integrity of financial statements, supports month‑end and quarter‑end close processes, and collaborates with global controllership partners.

Key responsibilities

• Execute monthly and quarterly close procedures and prepare financial and management reports.
• Collaborate with regional and global controllership teams to ensure seamless coordination of accounting activities.
• Support compliance with Mastercard policies, SOX, and operational risk management, and communicate potential exposures.
• Apply and update accounting policies in partnership with Technical Accounting.
• Identify and implement automated solutions to streamline accounting processes.
• Prepare accounting memos, documentation, and analyses as required.
• Research moderate to complex accounting issues, interpret US GAAP guidance, and provide recommendations.
• Partner with finance operations to implement front‑end and back‑end controls and mitigate key risks.
• Periodically review processes and controls, driving improvements and performance metric reporting.

Required profile

• Fluent English (C1/C2 level).
• Degree in Accounting or related field.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Experience in corporate financial reporting and month‑end close.
• Ability to work collaboratively with global finance teams.
