Manager, Settlement Operations

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Manager, Settlement Operations to lead a team that handles daily settlement processing for customers across the Americas time zones. The role ensures timely execution of domestic and cross‑border fund transfers, supports onboarding, and addresses customer inquiries.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily settlement cut‑off processing, ensuring compliance with procedures for both domestic and cross‑border transfers.
• Provide backup support and direct assistance to the team during operational shifts (07:00‑17:00 US Central).
• Manage resource scheduling, cross‑training, and coverage for the Americas shift.
• Maintain deep knowledge of reconciliation processes and act as escalation point for settlement issues.
• Lead process‑improvement initiatives to boost efficiency, quality, and timeliness.
• Resolve transaction discrepancies, update desktop procedures, and train staff on solutions.
• Collaborate with development and customer‑support teams to address internal and external queries.
• Identify gaps in settlement procedures through documentation reviews and provide guidance to other business units.
• Investigate and resolve incidents related to settlement operations and contribute to quarterly reporting.

• Leadership experience in an operational environment, preferably with shift‑based teams.
• Strong communication skills for escalation handling and staff training.
