Material Planner (Supply Chain)

About the role

The Material Planner ensures that manufacturing operations have the right materials at the right time by translating planning signals into actionable purchase orders, collaborating with suppliers, and optimizing inventory levels. This role is critical for maintaining production flow, customer satisfaction, and overall supply‑chain performance.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the weekly MRP cycle and convert planning signals into purchase orders, including placement, expediting, deferring, or cancellation.
• Manage the full purchase order lifecycle from creation through receipt.
• Communicate with suppliers, maintain accurate schedules, and monitor on‑time delivery performance.
• Track supplier confirmations and drive recovery actions to meet delivery targets.
• Maintain safety‑stock parameters within CoE governance and monitor inventory health (coverage, aging, excess & obsolete).
• Support continuous improvement of planning processes and data accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in materials or supply planning within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on experience with Kinaxis (RapidResponse or Maestro).
• Proficiency in Oracle EBS or SAP (MRP, purchasing, inventory modules).
• Strong knowledge of MRP logic, safety‑stock methodology, and inventory health metrics.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
