Materials Planner

About the role

The Materials Planner ensures that material supplies align with production schedules and safety stock levels, supporting operational reliability and patient safety at Zimmer Biomet.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and communicate material schedules, inventory positions, and product costs to supply planning and manufacturing.
• Analyze demand trends, generate direct material needs from MRP, and schedule supplies to meet production requirements.
• Communicate raw‑material shortages, update supply plans, and coordinate follow‑up actions with internal teams and suppliers.
• Reconcile supply non‑conformances, manage returns, and re‑plan material needs as required.
• Escalate supplier capacity or performance issues to sourcing/commodity management.
• Implement and improve processes for material delivery, monitor inventory accuracy, and minimize obsolete stock.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics or related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in supply chain planning, project management or related areas, preferably in medical devices.
• Strong communication, negotiation and analytical abilities.
• Ability to meet deadlines and produce regular, timely outputs.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Familiarity with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes.
• High English proficiency.
