Mechanical Designer – Food & Beverage Industry

About the role

GEA is seeking a Mechanical Designer to develop, optimise and upgrade industrial equipment for the food and beverage sector. The role focuses on delivering mechanical solutions that meet strict hygiene, food safety and efficiency standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, edit and manage plant layouts and process diagrams (P&IDs).
• Review detailed engineering of tanks, pressure vessels and construction diagrams.
• Validate manufacturing processes for stainless‑steel and carbon‑steel equipment, ensuring compliance with hygienic standards.
• Develop 2D and 3D projects across disciplines (Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical) using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D and Inventor.
• Generate bills of material, isometric drawings and pipeline routing for equipment manufacturing.
• Support contractors, create purchase requisitions and maintain project documentation.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering.
• 4+ years of 3D design experience and 5+ years in industrial project design, including steam and condensate networks, skids and piping diagrams.
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, with a valid US visa preferred.

Required skills

• AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, AutoCAD Inventor (3D modelling).
• Creation of plant layouts, P&IDs and isometric drawings.
• Bill of materials generation and pipeline routing.
• Vessel simulation using Compress software.
