Medical Virtual Assistant

About the role

WRS Health is seeking a remote Medical Virtual Assistant to provide front‑desk support for medical practices. You will be the primary point of contact for patients and providers, handling calls, scheduling, insurance verification, and daily administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Manage inbound and outbound patient calls professionally.
• Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments.
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage.
• Process prior‑authorization requests with carriers.
• Enter and maintain accurate patient data in the EMR system.
• Assist with patient collections, discuss balances, and process payments.
• Respond to patient inquiries about appointments, billing, and practice information.
• Document interactions and update records promptly.
• Coordinate with providers and staff to ensure seamless workflow.
• Meet productivity, quality, and customer‑service standards.

Required profile

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Previous experience in healthcare, medical office, customer service, call center, or virtual assistant roles preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English and Spanish.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment with reliable high‑speed internet.
• Professional home office setup.

Required skills

• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace.
• Comfort using web‑based applications.
