Mid-Level IT Developer (Ruby on Rails)

About the role

GP Transco is looking for an experienced Mid‑Senior IT Developer to design, develop and maintain software applications that support its modern trucking operations across the United States. You will work in a hybrid setting from Medellín, collaborating with product managers, clients and cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop software applications in line with user requirements and development standards.
• Evaluate solution feasibility within defined time, scope and cost constraints.
• Maintain and enhance existing software by fixing bugs, improving performance and reducing technical debt.
• Develop and implement AI‑driven features and contribute to overall system architecture.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, clients and team members to ensure clear understanding and delivery of requirements.

Required profile

• 4+ years of hands‑on experience with Ruby / Ruby on Rails delivering production‑ready solutions.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and ORM frameworks such as ActiveRecord.
• Solid knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript and CSS (Sass, Less, Tailwind).
• Deep understanding of REST APIs, microservices architecture and third‑party integrations.
• Experience with React or React Native is a plus.
• Experience with AI/ML solutions, including LLM integrations, intelligent automation and voice‑agent technologies.
• Excellent teamwork, communication skills and proficiency in English (written and verbal).
