MIS Manager – Business Intelligence & Analytics

About the role

The MIS Manager will lead the Business Intelligence function for Scotiabank's Finance, Technology & Operations area across Canada, Colombia and the Dominican Republic. This role combines technical leadership, hands‑on execution and AI adoption to deliver high‑quality data solutions that support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Translate complex business requirements into KPIs, dashboards and analytical models using Power BI and Excel.
• Design, develop and maintain the data architecture, ensuring scalability, availability and data‑quality metrics.
• Lead a high‑performing MIS team, providing technical coaching, mentorship and overseeing second‑line leadership.
• Automate ETL/ELT processes with Python and SQL to reduce manual effort and errors.
• Evaluate and implement AI solutions for analytics while ensuring compliance with data‑governance and security standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Finance, Business Administration or related field; postgraduate degree or certifications preferred.
• 5‑8 years of experience in MIS, Business Intelligence or Data Analytics, including managing large data sets and multiple data sources.
• Proven experience designing executive reports, dashboards and automating analytical processes.
• Minimum three years of experience leading or mentoring technical teams.

• Power BI, Excel (including Power Query, Power Pivot), Access
• Python (Pandas, NumPy) for data processing and automation
