Personal Injury Legal Assistant - On-Site Medellín

About the role

A growing legal team is looking for an organized, tech-savvy and proactive Legal Assistant to act as the operational engine of its practice. The role covers administrative, clerical and client-facing tasks, and the position is based on site in Medellín.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, organize and update digital client files in the cloud-based case management software.
• Manage attorney calendars, schedule depositions, client meetings and mediations, and track court deadlines.
• Serve as first point of contact by phone and email, screen clients initially, collect basic intake information and route inquiries.
• Order, track and follow up on case records such as medical records, billing statements, police reports and insurance details.
• Handle e-filing with courts, draft standard administrative correspondence, manage digital mail and help with basic invoice or billing entry.

Required profile

• Advanced English (C1 or higher).
• Availability to work on site in Medellín.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in an administrative or legal role.
• Preferred: prior experience in a personal injury law firm (plaintiff or defense), supporting litigation cases, understanding of medical records collection and medical terminology, knowledge of Florida personal injury law, court deadlines and e-filing.

Required skills

• Cloud collaboration tools such as Zoom, Slack, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint or Google Workspace, and digital phone systems.
• Legal case management software such as Clio, Filevine, Smokeball or similar.
• Professional written and verbal communication, attention to detail and independent task prioritization.
