Pesticide Applicator – Agricultural Field Operations

About the role

The Pesticide Applicator ensures safe and effective application of herbicides, pesticides, and other chemicals on agricultural fields. Working independently or within a team, the role involves operating spraying equipment, transporting supplies, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Transport fertilizers, pest‑control products, and equipment to fields using a truck and trailer, planning efficient routes.
• Mix chemicals in correct proportions, calibrate and operate spraying equipment, and perform applications day or night.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, maintain PPE, and follow all hazardous‑material regulations.
• Perform routine maintenance, basic repairs, and calibration of application machinery.
• Interact with landowners, provide clear communication about application timing, and collect required signatures.

Required profile

• Technologist or agronomist engineering education.
• Valid State Pest Control Applicator’s License.
• 2–3 years of experience in pesticide application.

Required skills

• Operation of spraying and tractor equipment.
• Chemical mixing and dosage calculation.
• Equipment calibration and basic mechanical repair.
• Hazardous material handling and PPE usage.
• Route planning and load/unload logistics.
• Accurate record‑keeping of chemical use and maintenance.
