Plumbing Design Engineer for Commercial Kitchens

About the role

Atoms is seeking a Plumbing Design Engineer to lead the design, construction, rollout, and maintenance of plumbing systems for its commercial kitchen facilities. You will work within a vertically integrated engineering team to create scalable, code‑compliant solutions that support a rapidly growing portfolio of real‑world robotic systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and coordinate hot and cold domestic water, natural gas, sanitary sewer, grease waste, roof drainage, fire water, standpipe, pumping, and water‑treatment systems.
• Conduct facility due‑diligence assessments to evaluate utility capacity, existing infrastructure, and redevelopment opportunities.
• Produce Basis of Design (BOD) packages and schematic design documents for consultant kickoff and project execution.
• Create and maintain detailed construction documents, prototype facility standards, and engineering details using Revit and related design platforms.
• Review consultant and Engineer of Record (EOR) design packages to ensure alignment with Atoms standards, operational requirements, and cost objectives.

Required profile

• Engineer with a strong background in plumbing system design for commercial facilities.
• Ability to think beyond standard solutions and challenge conventional approaches.
• Experience collaborating with Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Development, Construction, and Operations teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Revit and related design platforms.
