Project Accountant II – Financial Reporting & Cost Control

About the role

Worley is seeking a Project Accountant II to deliver timely and accurate project financial information. The role focuses on cost variance analysis, percentage‑of‑completion calculations, revenue processing, and preparation of standard and management reports, supporting effective project performance monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate Estimate at Completion (EAC) cost variances and coordinate with project managers.
• Support analysis of forecast changes and identify cost drivers.
• Calculate percentage of completion for lump‑sum projects in line with Worley accounting policies.
• Validate cost, progress, and forecast data to ensure accurate revenue recognition.
• Upload and maintain revenue events in financial systems, ensuring consistency between costs, progress, and recognized revenue.
• Prepare standard project financial reports covering cost, revenue, margin, and progress indicators.
• Assist with ad‑hoc financial analysis requests and routine accounting tasks, including reconciliations and month‑end close activities.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
• Typically 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in project cost analysis and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to data accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
