Quality Assurance Team Lead - Insurance

About the role

Porch Group's Insurance business unit is hiring a Quality Assurance Team Lead to run its Colombia-based team of Quality Assurance Auditors and Evaluators. The role drives consistent quality standards across key insurance processes, coaches the team to close performance gaps and acts as the main link between QA and U.S.-based Operations leadership. It reports to the Senior Learning & Development and Quality Assurance Manager and is remote.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of QA auditors and evaluators, including new and less-experienced staff, through check-ins, team meetings and calibration sessions.
• Design and maintain the audit plan (cadence, sampling approach and scope) and oversee its execution and results.
• Facilitate QA calibration sessions and validate scoring methodologies across auditors, evaluators and operations.
• Monitor individual QA performance, recommend action plans for underperformance and coordinate corrective steps with leadership.
• Partner with Operations on corrective and preventive actions for recurring quality issues and with Learning & Development on training tailored to audit findings.
• Provide regular quality updates and a formal quarterly report to leadership, and escalate risks to U.S.-based leadership.
• Maintain QA documentation (audit forms, scorecards, evaluation criteria, SOPs) and manage team schedules, attendance and workload.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance or a related field.
• 3+ years in Quality Assurance, auditing or insurance operations, including leading or mentoring a team.
• Strong grounding in insurance operations, compliance and QA methodology (scorecards, calibration, evaluations).
• Excellent written and verbal English for reporting to U.S.-based stakeholders.
• Experience with U.S. insurance claims, underwriting or policy administration.
• Experience managing offshore or distributed QA teams and collaborating across time zones.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, and comfort with QA or reporting dashboards.
• Familiarity with root-cause analysis and continuous improvement frameworks.
• Experience with QMS platforms and AI-forward QA platforms (automated scoring, speech/conversation analytics).
