Refrigeration Sales Engineer – New Machines

About the role

GEA, a global supplier of systems for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical sectors, is hiring a Refrigeration Sales Engineer in its Heating Refrigeration Technologies Team in Colombia. The role covers the sale of new refrigeration machines, with revenue responsibility of €1 million, and reports to the compression sales manager. The main goal is to implement the country sales strategy, plan and forecast sales, build the product portfolio and drive revenue through new machines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the new machines sales strategy and ensure a GEA approach to customers in the country, working with the Head of Sales
• Identify opportunities for new machines sales in the refrigeration industry and manage key customer accounts
• Partner with service sales engineers and technicians to spot up-sell and cross-sell opportunities
• Manage daily activities across several refrigeration business applications and coordinate the sales strategy and planning, including budget and forecasting
• Communicate the sales strategy and vision to employees and work with service teams for a coordinated approach

Required profile

• University degree in a main engineering field
• At least 4-6 years of sales experience in industrial refrigeration, preferably at large scale and in compression technologies
• Experience in capital equipment or service sales in the refrigeration business
• Familiarity with GEA service offerings and local market requirements of different customer groups
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Ability to travel at least 50% of the time per month
