Remote Accounting Assistant (English B2+)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Remote Accounting Assistant to support the accounting operations of a U.S. roofing client. The role involves handling day‑to‑day financial tasks, communicating in English with vendors and internal teams, and working independently under an independent‑contractor agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain ledgers, journals and financial statements; update accounting databases and spreadsheets.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, verify invoices and purchase orders, and resolve billing discrepancies with vendors.
• Reconcile bank statements with internal records and report any discrepancies.
• Enter financial data, file documentation, and assist with month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Support payroll by verifying time data and inputting payroll information.
• Respond to financial inquiries and provide administrative support to accountants and auditors.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience.
• At least one year of bookkeeping, data‑entry or accounting support experience.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher (both written and spoken).

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero or Sage.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace skills.
