About the role

We are seeking a remote Biology Expert to design and solve challenging biology problems that will be used to evaluate large language models. This short‑term contract offers $346 per approved task and flexible working hours.

Key responsibilities

Design and solve advanced biology problems for LLM evaluation benchmarks.
Develop clear, step‑by‑step solutions with detailed reasoning.
Collaborate with LLM researchers to create and refine evaluation tasks.
Help define new benchmarks covering undergraduate to PhD‑level biology.
Analyze complex biological questions using logical, structured approaches.
Explain biology concepts in simple language, incorporating visuals or simulations when needed.

Required profile

Master’s, Ph.D., or currently pursuing a Ph.D./Postdoctoral degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related fields.
Strong research and analytical abilities.
Creative and lateral thinking skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration in a remote environment.

Required skills

Proficiency in at least three of the following tools: BWA, Bowtie2, GATK, HMMER, HHsuite, STAR, SPAdes, IQ‑TREE, OpenMM, AlphaFold2, PyOpenMS, RELION, PhysiCell, COPASI, Comet, COBRApy, Hifiasm, ABySS, DeepVariant, Flye, OR‑Tools, Bracken, Kraken2, MEGAHIT, antiSMASH, BEAST2, FastTree, DIA‑NN, Percolator, AutoDock Vina, CP2K, Salmon, MethylDackel, Canu, GROMACS.

What we offer

Short‑term contract (11 weeks) with $346 per approved task.
Fully remote work with a requirement of 8 hours per day and a 4‑hour overlap with PST.
