Remote Full‑time Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a full‑time remote Accountant to join a growing outsourced finance and accounting firm. This position bridges the gap between bookkeeping and controller work, offering the chance to manage client accounts, oversee month‑end close, and mentor junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounting operations for a portfolio of 3–4 clients across various industries.
• Oversee and support a bookkeeper handling day‑to‑day data entry.
• Assist with and review accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Own or support the month‑end close cycle, ensuring accurate and timely financials.
• Review financial statements, identify discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues.
• Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Online and related systems.
• Step in to support bookkeeping during PTO, overflow periods, or special projects.
• Communicate financial information clearly to clients and answer accounting‑related questions.
• Participate in occasional client meetings and team calls.
• Collaborate with controller‑level and CFO‑level team members on complex engagements.

Required profile

• 3+ years of accounting experience with a strong understanding of GAAP and accrual‑based accounting.
• Experience with month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online or similar financial platforms.
• Comfortable speaking with clients and explaining financial information in clear English.
• Detail‑oriented, able to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Own a working computer with high‑speed internet and be English‑speaking.
