Research Intern - Due Diligence

About the role

This is a full-time internship supporting a dedicated team on due diligence assignments such as corporate compliance, anti-bribery and anti-corruption (ABAC), environmental, social and governance (ESG), financial crime, internal public offering (IPO) and know your customer (KYC) projects. It requires availability Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and a formal internship agreement between the university and the employer.

Key responsibilities

• Media research, using databases, primary documents and other sources to uncover reputational and criminal issues and ultimate beneficial ownership
• Analyse complex corporate structures and identify possible political and sanctions exposure
• Collaborate with team members across the firm on joint projects

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree; the internship is a mandatory graduation requirement
• Fluency in English and/or Spanish, written and spoken
• Ability to write clearly, concisely and authoritatively to tight deadlines
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritise multiple tasks

Required skills

• Media and database research using complex search criteria and a strict methodology
• Summarising large amounts of information clearly and concisely
• Communicating complex topics verbally and in writing
• Preferred: knowledge of the business, political and social context of a geographical area, and experience with research techniques, databases, online registers and archives
