RN Supervisor – Nursing Leadership Role

About the role

The RN Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily nursing activities to ensure high‑quality resident care in compliance with federal, state and local regulations. This leadership position coordinates care delivery, supports staff development, and acts as a liaison between clinical teams, physicians, and families.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in resident care, including rounds, assessments and reporting.
• Manage and administer IV therapy and other skilled nursing procedures.
• Supervise, instruct and assist LVN/LPN nurses, treatment nurses and CNAs, providing prompt responses to call signals.
• Oversee development, implementation and review of care plans and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Communicate with physicians, ancillary services and families regarding treatment changes and resident status.
• Respond to medical emergencies, verify laboratory orders and ensure timely notification of results.
• Participate in staff orientation, ongoing training, performance counseling and disciplinary actions.
• Assist with quality assurance programs, facility surveys and incident documentation.

Required profile

• Current RN licensure with experience in long‑term care or similar setting.
• Strong knowledge of nursing standards, regulations and best practices.
• Ability to lead, coach and evaluate nursing staff effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
