Roads and Streets Design Coordinator

About the role

Arup is seeking a highly motivated Roads and Streets Design Coordinator to lead planning, coordination, and management of multidisciplinary engineering design activities for major transportation and infrastructure projects in Bogotá. The role involves close collaboration with clients, project managers, design teams, contractors, authorities and other stakeholders to ensure integrated technical delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Design Coordinator across diverse transportation and infrastructure projects, ensuring effective discipline integration.
• Develop and implement design management strategies, delivery plans and coordination processes.
• Manage design programmes, deliverables, interfaces, dependencies and risks throughout project delivery.
• Facilitate coordination between geometry, pavements, geotechnics, drainage, structures, tunnels, utilities, BIM, environmental and other specialist disciplines.
• Lead technical workshops, design review meetings and stakeholder coordination sessions.
• Support project managers with scope, schedule, budget, risk and resource planning.
• Coordinate resolution of design issues, technical interfaces and multidisciplinary challenges.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Transport or Highway Engineering (post‑graduate qualification desirable).
• Professional experience in design, design management or delivery of major road/highway and urban mobility projects.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary design teams on large, complex infrastructure projects.
• Experience working with public agencies, concessionaires, contractors or consulting firms.
• Professional working proficiency in Spanish; English proficiency desirable.
• Eligibility to practice engineering in Colombia.
