Senior Accountant

About the role

MAVIMAVI is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage end‑to‑end accounting operations for US‑based companies. This hands‑on position requires independent ownership of general ledger, AP, AR, and month‑end close activities while collaborating with finance stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting across the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed‑asset entries, and account adjustments.
• Complete bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations and support month‑end close.
• Prepare account roll‑forwards, supporting schedules, and assist with financial statement preparation.
• Investigate unusual balances, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate with US finance teams.
• Support audit requests, year‑end activities, and system implementation projects.
• Identify and drive improvements in accounting processes and documentation.

Required profile

• 4+ years of hands‑on accounting experience with strong knowledge of GL, AP, AR, and month‑end close.
• Proven ability to prepare journal entries and balance‑sheet reconciliations under US GAAP.
• Experience working with US‑based companies or finance teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Experience with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, or Sage.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
