Senior Accountant

About the role

FHI 360 is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its STRIDES project team in Bogotá. The role ensures accurate financial recording, compliance with Colombian regulations, and alignment with corporate accounting policies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly and year‑end closing processes, including account reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare statutory, management, and financial analysis reports in accordance with Colombian accounting standards.
• Maintain internal controls, audit readiness, and documentation for all financial transactions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, grant monitoring, and program expenditure tracking.
• Serve as liaison between the local finance team and FHI 360 headquarters to ensure consistent reporting.
• Provide live training on financial and accounting systems for field programs.
• Ensure timely compliance with corporate obligations such as commercial registry renewals and regulatory filings.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification with several years of experience in Colombian accounting and tax compliance.
• Proven ability to oversee month‑end and year‑end close cycles and produce accurate financial statements.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, audit processes, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Experience working in a nonprofit or grant‑funded environment is preferred.
