Senior Accountant

About the role

Porch Group is building a national home services marketplace and needs a Senior Accountant to support its finance and accounting function. This remote position, administered through RemoFirst, will help ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance as the company scales.

Key responsibilities

• Perform independent accounting activities across general ledger, fixed assets, capitalized software, and operational accounting.
• Control, monitor, and review accounts for accuracy, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Review staff work on invoices, vendor details, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Analyze financial data and assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Partner with managers and internal teams to maintain processes and controls.
• Participate in audits with external and internal audit teams.

Required profile

• B.S. degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent corporate finance experience.
• Minimum 4 years of corporate finance experience, including SOX compliance.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent English communication and ability to work independently in a virtual environment.
• Experience collaborating with global or US‑based business teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with NetSuite accounting software.
• Familiarity with FloQast audit workflow tool.
