Senior Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis

About the role

Mastercard's Financial Planning & Analysis function manages management reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, strategic and customer planning, and corporate reporting and planning requirements. This Senior Analyst position supports strategic processes and initiatives while managing and executing those reporting and planning requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze variances against budget, forecasts and prior-year actuals, and provide business-driven commentary to management teams
• Support the annual plan, budget and forecast, and ensure accurate data upload into the Hyperion budgeting and forecasting tool
• Manage and update standardized financial reporting packages, including business metrics and KPIs, and communicate revenue risks and opportunities
• Provide financial analytics and insights to stakeholders and help build tracking mechanisms for Mastercard's strategic plans
• Build and maintain financial tools for analysis and modeling, suggest improvements to financial systems, and explore automation opportunities
• Work with the FP&A leads, CFO and business partners to design, automate and maintain advanced reporting and data visualization on large data volumes
• Translate stakeholder needs into technical analyses or automated reports, clean and validate data, and deliver projects on time with post-implementation reviews

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant, CPA or MBA in Finance (Engineering or coding experience preferred)
• Experience in financial roles covering all phases of financial planning and management
• Good knowledge of reporting, forecasting and budgeting techniques
• Ability to turn analysis results into data-driven insights and to work across multiple time zones
• Excellent communication, presentation and strategic thinking skills

Required skills

• Hyperion and Oracle financial systems
• SQL, R or Python for structured and unstructured data
• ETL tools such as Alteryx or Informatica
• BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI and Domo (preferred)
• Excel VBA is a plus
