Senior AWS DevOps Engineer

About the role

As a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer you will build and improve AWS-based cloud platforms for client projects of different sizes and maturity levels. You will work with Kubernetes, serverless and container services, infrastructure automation, observability and CI/CD, and contribute to modernization and migration initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design and operate AWS infrastructure using core IaaS and PaaS services, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code and automation practices.
• Improve platform reliability, security, scalability and delivery speed through repeatable environments and strong operational standards.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, SREs, platform engineers and client stakeholders to align DevOps solutions with business and technical goals.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, branching models and deployment strategies with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or AWS-native tooling.
• Manage Kubernetes workloads in Amazon EKS or vanilla clusters, using Helm charts and practical troubleshooting methods.
• Automate infrastructure and configuration with Terraform, CDK, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SaltStack, Python or Bash.
• Implement monitoring, logging, metrics and alerts with CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch or similar tools.
• Apply cloud well-architected practices to modernization, migration, security, resilience and cost-optimization initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong experience as a DevOps, SRE or platform engineer, including 4+ years in cloud-based delivery.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Amazon EKS or vanilla clusters, Helm charts and production workload operations.
• Solid background in Linux administration, networking, TCP/UDP, DNS, HTTPS, TLS certificates and troubleshooting distributed systems.
• Demonstrated B2+ English proficiency, written and spoken.
• Availability to work from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM (Colombia time).
• Experience with AI-based products or ML teams is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of AWS services such as IAM, VPC, NAT Gateway, ELB, EC2, S3, ECS, API Gateway, Lambda, WAF, Network Firewall, RDS and DynamoDB.
• Infrastructure as Code and configuration management with Terraform, CDK, Ansible, Chef, Puppet or SaltStack.
• Scripting with Python or Bash; TypeScript, Node.js or Go experience is a plus.
• Practical understanding of observability platforms and cloud well-architected practices.
