Senior Backend Engineer (Platform & Architecture) - AppSec Solution

About the role

OX Security is building security technology for the AI-driven SDLC, from prompt to production, and is growing fast. It is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join its AppSec Solution group, which owns the company's core platform. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role working closely with the Software Architect and team leads across R&D, DevOps and Product, helping shape the architecture and infrastructure the product runs on, including running AI agents inside the product at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Own cross-company infrastructure and architecture projects end-to-end with the Software Architect, from design through adoption across teams
• Build and own the shared foundations and standards on which services are built
• Lead the evolution of the data layer as the largest customers scale
• Build the platform foundations for running AI agents inside the OX product
• Drive cost optimization from the application side, including how services scale on Kubernetes
• Raise the reliability and observability bar across services
• Lead how R&D builds with AI, so AI-assisted development is fast and meets engineering standards
• Align with team leads, DevOps and Product, and act as an internal partner by reviewing designs, finding reuse and raising the architectural bar
• Write platform code and land changes across teams

Required profile

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience, with architect-level depth in system design
• Strong production experience with Node.js and TypeScript
• Deep experience with databases at scale: data modelling, performance and evolving a data layer in production
• Proven hands-on platform engineering and infrastructure experience, including shared foundations adopted across teams
• Track record of leading cross-team technical projects and influencing without formal authority
• Clear written communication, including design docs and technical reviews
