Senior Civil Designer / Civil 3D Designer

About the role

Pond is looking for a Senior Civil Designer / Civil 3D Designer to join its Civil Engineering team in Bogotá, supporting U.S.-based infrastructure, energy, industrial and site development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Civil 3D models for grading, earthworks, roads, drainage, stormwater ponds, ditches, utility corridors, pipeline alignments and site development.
• Produce grading plans, plan‑and‑profile drawings, cross‑sections, construction drawings and supporting documentation.
• Create terrain models from survey data and LiDAR when available, perform earthwork calculations and quantity take‑offs.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (structural, mechanical, process, electrical, environmental, survey) in a global work‑share environment.
• Lead drafting standardisation initiatives, implement client standards, CAD workflows and document organisation.
• Mentor junior designers, conduct QA/QC reviews and support estimating and scheduling.

Required profile

• Technical, associate or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting or related field.
• 8+ years of civil design experience on infrastructure, industrial, energy, utility or site development projects.
• Professional proficiency in English (B2 or higher) with strong written and verbal communication.
• Proven ability to mentor others and promote technical excellence.

Required skills

• Expert‑level proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
• Extensive experience with earthworks modelling, grading, roadway and drainage design.
• Experience creating terrain models from survey data; LiDAR processing is a strong plus.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, drafting standards and CAD management.
